Confessions of a Bread Snob

As I sit here writing this post, I’m enjoying my breakfast of 2 slices of Arnold Nuts & Seeds Healthfull Bread, toasted and topped with natural peanut butter. As simple as “peanut butter toast” may sound, it’s one of my favorite breakfasts, and I never really tire of it. But, here’s the catch – I can’t eat it with just “any old bread.” And here’s why:

I’m a bread snob!

There, I’ve said it. Honestly, I don’t think I’m a snob in many ways (though sometimes introverts or shy people can be misunderstood); but, when it comes to my bread, it’s only the best for me.

I’m not sure where this snobbery originated. It could be that it’s genetic – my dad is a bread snob also. Or, it could be a result of spending 5 months living abroad in Italy – way back when I was 5 years old. Let’s face it, those Italians certainly know how to make good bread. All crusty on the outside and light and airy on the inside. (And therein could be another factor – texture can “make or break” a food item for me. …read more
