I need to start this post with a bit of a humorous story, so that you understand the dilemma of living in an older house . . .
Our “master bedroom” has two closets – both not much larger than the door that opens to access them. Mine is right inside our bedroom door and the door opens toward the room, blocking off the light source. A few years ago, I asked for a light in my closet and Brian got me one of those little push-on lights. It sheds very little light on my shoes and still makes it difficult to find what I’m looking for. The other day, I saw a shoe rack on sale, so I bought it. Yesterday, Ian and I assembled it and it is HUGE. Way too high to put in my closet (which is what I had planned). I guess it’s designed for someone with a nice, spacious walk-in closet (though I’m hard pressed to understand why they would need it).
