The World Showcase in EPCOT is an amazing place. In one afternoon you can visit Mexico, Germany, France, and be back in America for Illuminations – EPCOT’s nighttime spectacular. Each pavilion is it’s own experience that features beautiful items made in that pavilion’s home land, Cast Members who are from the lands they are representing, and the food…. Oh the food!
There’s no end to the delicious delicacies from around the globe. Which is why one of my families’ favorite things to do in EPCOT is “snack around the world”. Rather than having a typical breakfast, lunch and dinner in EPCOT, we hoard our Disney Dining Plan snack credits and share a treat (or two) from each country.
Let’s start in The Mexico Pavilion. At La Cantina De San Angel you’ll find a now very popular amusement park treat – churros! Churros are like the doughnuts of Mexico – sweet sticks of fried dough, rolled in cinnamon and sugar and served with a warm caramel dipping sauce. Amazing. If that seems a little too rich, there’s also paletas, which is Spanish for popsicles, in flavors like mango, lime, and watermelon.
