Ian and I just finished reading Charlotte’s Web for school. (We are doing Total Language Plus this year, and this was the second book on our schedule. Next up: Pippi Longstocking.)
Even though I knew exactly how the book was going to end, the very last paragraph really got to me. So much so that I ended up sobbing and had to turn the book over to Ian to finish the last few sentences for me. The fact that, no matter how many friends and offspring of Charlotte that he had around him, he still always missed Charlotte reminded me so much of my friend Sue. But, that’s a story for another day!
Around here, we have a book first, movie second rule. So, after finishing the book, we treated ourselves by watching the original cartoon movie (from 1973). I grew up on this movie, but Ian doesn’t remember ever having seen it.
We popped in the DVD and right away I was reminded of so many reasons why I love this movie. So, I thought I’d share for 3 Things Thursday . . .
