For the Soup & Salad course at Animator’s Palate, I selected the Baked Potato and Cheddar Cheese Soup – With Bacon Bits and Chives. Honestly, everything sounded good and it was hard to decide.
Arugula Leaves – With Red Beets, Orange Segments and Marinated White Beans with Mustard Dressing

Chicken and Walnut Salad – Craisins, Red Onions and a Cranberry Dressing
Creamy Butternut Squash Soup – Garnished with Chives and drizzled with Sour Cream
I almost opted against the soup because we make our own version of Loaded Baked Potato Soup at home a lot. But, I’m glad I chose it (Brian did as well). It was different from what we make at home. Rather than having chunks of potatoes in it, they were blended in, making the soup smooth. And the cheese had a very different flavor from the cheddar cheese we use.
