Whispering Canyon Café (Wilderness Lodge) – Table Service
We started off our trip with dinner at Whispering Canyon Café (WCC) at Wilderness Lodge. I had previously eaten breakfast here but never dinner. I thought it would be a great way to kick off our trip and keep the four year old occupied. WCC occupies the first floor of Wilderness Lodge and has that “rustic” look and feel to it, like the rest of the lodge. At times it can be interactive and noisy but servers give you a card if you’d rather NOT participate in any activities. While we were there, my daughter participated in a wooden horse parade around the tables with other children.
There are some trigger questions you can ask servers that may or may not result in a funny result. We tried out two that night. First my daughter asked for ketchup for her chicken nuggets. That resulted in another table bringing several bottles over, which then we had to distribute next time. My daughter also asked for a longer straw and the server brought her over a two-foot straw made of connecting straws.
