We learned several lessons during our adoption process(es).
The first, and probably most important lesson for me, was that God’s timing is not our timing. I tend to be a bit of a control freak. I love planning and I want things done my way. But, throughout the process of adoption, I was reminded over and over again that this wasn’t my situation to plan or to control. God chose these babies for us – half-way around the world – and He would bring them to us in his time.
My mom learned this same lesson while waiting for my brothers many years ago. The oldest of the two broke his leg while we were waiting and the Korean government wouldn’t release him to come to the US until the cast was off. This pushed our wait time way back.
