Cars 3 hits theaters on Friday, June 16! Here’s a no-spoiler review of the film, which includes Pixar’s newest short, Lou!

As with all Disney Pixar films, Cars 3 is preceded by a Pixar short entitled Lou. While there is no dialogue, the message of forgiveness and friendship is clear. It’s a very heartwarming and fun Pixar short!

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!
Review
Cars 3 was better than I expected! We get back to a true racing story – one that comes with perseverance. Lightning McQueen must work harder than ever to achieve his goals. Many lessons can be obtained from this film: hard work pays off, take that one shot or you may regret it, work together – building each other up; don’t be afraid to hand off the reigns to someone else to accomplish your goals. While Cars fans begin watching the movie rooting for Lightning McQueen, they finish the film rooting for two! Disney does it again with a happy, heartwarming story! All of your favorite characters are back, along with some new, younger characters – who even try to steal the show!
The Kid Factor
It’s meant for kids – take them! No bad words, no scary characters – it’s a good old-fashioned racing story with a twist in the end, but sure to please everyone!
Stay After the Credits?
Yes! As with all Pixar films – there’s always a final scene after the credits. So, stay seated and enjoy an extra laugh from Mater!
